Ground Beef and Egg Nests

Ground Beef and Egg Nests

These juicy ground beef nests with egg are a great example of how a few simple ingredients can make a tasty, filling dish. Seasoned ground beef is shaped into nests and an egg is baked in each one, giving you tender meat and a soft yolk. The recipe is high in protein and works for both lunch and dinner.

Steps to prepare

1. Prepare the meat

Put the ground beef in a large bowl. Add one of the eggs and season with salt, black pepper, savory, granulated onion and a little garlic powder. Knead well until evenly combined.

2. Shape the nests

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Divide the meat into as many equal portions as you have eggs left for the filling. Shape them into nests with a deep well in the center of each one.

3. Bake

Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C (356 °F) until the meat is half done. It may release some liquid while baking; if needed, carefully spoon it off so it doesn't collect in the nests. Take out the baking sheet, crack an egg into each nest and return it to the oven. Bake until the eggs are done to your liking and the meat is fully cooked.

4. Serve

Serve right away while warm. They pair great with mashed potatoes and a fresh salad. Sprinkle with a little fresh parsley or extra black pepper before serving if you like.
